University of California Minimum Admissions Requirements
Completion of A-G requirements
3.00 GPA or higher
SAT Reasoning Test/ACT Plus Writing
Applicants are not required to take SAT subjects test. However, the UC system
encourages your student to take two subject tests scores to:
-demonstrate your mastery of a particular subject
-apply for a competitive major and your preferred campus may recommend certain
subject tests.
Applying to a UC
To apply for a college within the UC system, your student will need to go to

Window to apply: Nov. 1st – Nov. 30th. We highly recommend that students apply before
the last week in November.
California State University Minimum Admissions Requirements
Completion of A – G
2.00 GPA or higher
If GPA is below 3.00, your student must take the SAT or ACT. Even if your student’s
GPA is above 3.00, impacted campuses or majors may still require your student to take
the SAT or ACT. CSU, Chico and CSU, Sacramento are impacted and require SAT or
ACT scores.
The Eligibility Index shows the combination of test scores and grade point average required to
meet minimum eligibility requirements.

To apply for a college within the CSU system, your student will need to go to
