Attendance

Absence Policy
Parents must call or send a note to the school office by 9:00 a.m. regarding any absence or tardy. The telephone number at CHS is 458-2156. If there is no answer, please leave a message on the answering machine indicating the child's name, date of absence, and the reason for absence. California average daily attendance funds will only be received when your child is in school. Absences that have not been cleared within 3 school days will be deemed unexcused. 18+ year old students are not permitted to excuse their own absences nor are they permitted to sign themselves out of school.

Athletic Policy states that student athletes who are absent from any portion or all of school on  a game day must present to the Attendance Office, a verification from a medical professional in order to be eligible to participate in that day’s event.

Student Sign-Out Policy
Anytime a student is removed from campus during the school day by a parent or designee, this person must be listed on the student's registration card. Students must be signed out through the office, so please do not go directly to the child's classroom.

Off Campus Lunch Policy
Only Eligible 11th & 12th grade students may leave campus during lunch.  All other students must remain on campus during lunch.

Tardy Policy
Tardies prohibit children from gaining maximum advantage from classroom instruction. Our goal is to eliminate tardies, maximize instruction, and develop a sense of punctuality. Please try to have your child at school on time everyday.
